I should be more careful with the Ozzian stuff. (having already recommended what I thought was a splendid read for boomerang - who requires an interpreter!)

If someone says to you "What are ya!" it means a sort of tongue in cheek "What the hell are you made of?! P*** weak!". It is often used affectionately/humorously. (As I type this it's sounding more & more ridiculous to me, even.)
