@edgarblythe,
Good one by The Rays, edgar. Speaking of which, a combination of things.

Jimi Hendrix did a concert at Rainbow Bridge in Hawaii, and it is my understanding that he referred to Janis Joplin and The Doors. It, of course related to him as well.

Robert Burns

But pleasures are like poppies spread,
You seize the flower, its bloom is shed.
Or like the snow fall on the river,
A moment white, then gone forever.
Or like the borealis rays,
That flits ere you can point the place
Or like the rainbow's lovely form
evanescing amid the storm.

Ramblin' Jack Elliott was a guitar man

He drove 900 miles thru the promised land

With his cowboy hat and a J-45

He made it thru the wreckage telling secrets and lies

A folk singer's dream is the stars at night

A bottle of bourbon and a lonely light

Ramblin' Jack Elliott was a mystery man

He ran out of the shadows of a New York land

With his razor sharp wit and his trademark smile

Sang the words from the canvas

Make you see a million miles

A folk singer's dream is the stars at night

A bottle of bourbon and a lonely light

Ramblin' Jack Elliott knew the secrets of song

He knew how to pick 'em, damn the right or wrong

He respected the spirit, he respected the truth

From This Heart of Mine to the Cocaine Blues

A folk singer's dream is the stars at night

A bottle of bourbon and a lonely light

@edgarblythe,
That guy is good, edgar. Don't know Red but Outlaw does tell a story.

I was doing some research today and recalled this man.

Herbert Marshall McLuhan CC (July 21, 1911 – December 31, 1980) was a Canadian educator, philosopher, and scholar — a professor of English literature, a literary critic, and a communications theorist. McLuhan's work is viewed as one of the cornerstones of the study of media theory. McLuhan is known for coining the expressions "the medium is the message" and the "global village".

Here's one global village.(sorry about the the advertisement)

Many people thgought this song was written about Joan, but it was written to Bob Dylan's wife by him.

Welcome to A2K isskapur. A lovely song and stories are often about angels with broken wings.

The Ship of the Desert.

First, a funny quote from Ogden Nash.

"The bactrian has a single hump;The dromedary, two;Or else the other way around; I'm never sure. Are you?"

Story without words.

@edgarblythe,
The Coasters Shopping for Clothes was funny, but true.

Boy, coyotes are cunning.

@edgarblythe,
Great one, edgar. Never understood what "...cutting the mustard..." was all about. Know that one, however, and like it.

Associated Press | AP – 18 hrs ago TULSA, Okla. (AP) — The Cherokee Nation's Supreme Court on Thursday threw out the results of a disputed election to determine the chief of Oklahoma's largest Native American tribe following weeks of legal wrangling and multiple vote tallies that each came out with a different number.
The court's ruling means a new election will be held in Tahlequah, although a date was not set by the five-justice court. At stake is the leadership of 300,000 Cherokees, one of the largest tribes in the U.S. Uncertainty about the accuracy of the results of the June 25 election and repeated flip-flopping in terms of the declared winner in the close and bitter contest has eroded confidence among Cherokee voters.

The rest of the story is here.

Now the song by Gentleman Jim.

Woody Guthrie did this originally.
