just kidding with Ed, folks. Here's a Google map of Del Rio
to check out the local atmosphere for the lucky airman who gets posted there.
Go ahead - use the the pointer tool for a close look. You can use it south of the border, too.

@neko nomad,
I have passed through Del Rio many times, neko. And once helped build a house there, when I was about 19.

Some news from the music world, that is, MY music world. Ray Cooper, better known as Chopper, the cellist with oyster band, will leave at the end of their tour with June Tabor. He was with the band for 24 years.

Here's Chopper on the cello captured live at Shrewsbury. The sound could be better. The song was originally a punk anthem by Joy Division. They've slowed it down and made it a ballad.

When I saw this band at The Middle East in Cambridge, I thought they looked like a motor cycle gang with Chopper being the most fierce. At that gig, he played an electric cello, which was probably better for traveling.

@edgarblythe,
I think it is as well. It is good to have both a man and a woman sing the alternating verses: makes it more meaningful.

@edgarblythe,
He looks so much like a lost friend of mine (who may still be in CO) whose name is also Harry that it is disturbing

Silver Dagger - Joan Baez
Quality is kinda bad, typical as it's a very old song, yet Bonez's sweet voice shines easily. A fine old ballad that captures the disappointments and limitations of love, title says it all.

I don't think I ever paid attention to Georgia Okeeffe before. She did some nice work.

Trust me, there is a story imbedded here of a marriage gone bad thanks to Satan as well as the great songwriting and performing of Fred Eaglesmith and terrific, stop action Lego animation.
