Im sat here listening to the B52's Cosmic Thing album,an album from my childhood, and Imthroughly loving it.
An album that, for me, just oozes summer.
Id also like to nominate The Mama's and the Papa's greatest hits album as another summer album.
What albums do you nominate that encapsulate the hot lazy summer days?
Anything by War who had that sweltering lazy-day feel to so much of their stuff, inparticular [I know it's unadventurous] the Greatest hits album as released on vinyl in 1977.
I'll bite..My list
Most of these are my summer songs or songs that brighten me up/make me feel summery:

Yeah, all of these I've either owned, listened to, or sing (in shower) on a regular basis.
A song: "Paper Sun" from the first Traffic lp.
and yet therer are others ... (Can't help myself)
"Summer Breeze" Seals and Crofts
"Full Sail" (album) Loggins and Messina
"Sailin' The Wind" Loggins and Messina
"Watching The River Run"
"Tequila Sunrise" the Eagles
"Blue Bayou" Linda Ronstadt
"The Hissing of Summer Lawns", Joni Mitchell
Since moving to Alabama, at the end of a 90-100 degree day I'll be into to something meandering, accoustic, and lo-fi. For example, Robert Johnson, Jimmie Rodgers, Hank Williams. With the evening breeze coming through the screen door.
Oh, wait, I've got it. The number one soundtrack for gin and tonics on the porch--Billie Holiday.
That'll be my vote--Billie.
Isley Brothers "3+3"
Roy Ayers "You Send Me"
Donald Byrd "Traces and Spaces"
"Rufus featuring Chaka Kahn"
3 feet high and rising by de la soul, tripped out hip hop for the daisy age
