Looks like only such privileged persons like you can enjoy.
Normal British subjects have to take the dessert as it is served
Cripes!!Didnt think it was that bad!
*smiling indulgently at the poor pommys who are suffering in outrageously intolerable 37 degree heat.*
Yep....my once beautiful back garden.
I've given up on it this year <sob>
It was hotter earlier in the week, but the humidity is higher now, so it feels worse. Or so the delivery man told me as he handed over a box of wine. I said it must be hot in his van...but it seems even delivery vans are air conditioned these days. The wine's hot though.

mmmmmmmm, sounds hot.
Quote:Hahaha! I'm OFF today, so I don't have to wear a suit.
Instead, I shall be strolling round the garden in nothing but my union jack thong, stuffed with ice cubes.
hmmmmmm, sounds hotter
<wishing to hell someone had a telephoto lens trained on LE>
I haven't been actually *hot* since we moved. Warm, yes, even warm enough to go swimming in the freeeeezing ocean (ask osso how not warm the ocean is here!), but not hot. <sigh> So I don't want to hear any whinging about being too hot! Grrr...
Ah, yes. In my north north location, summer brought a general high temp of 63 (17.2 C) or 64 degrees, rarely getting about that. Perhaps it was 70 once or twice. Winter high tended to hover around 53, quite consistently.
People from north north tend to vacation in the Hawaiian Islands or Mexico. A friend of mine wore hawaiian shirts every chance he could get.
On the other hand, Cypher, one can go inland and hit 105 in Willow Creek, should one wish...
Also, Cypher, the good news is that it is often beautiful there in the fall - really, Sept, Oct, Nov, into December.
Osso, that weather sounds absolutely perfect!
Well, benefits come with, er, concerns. At least in my town it was often grayish. Though when it wasn't the sky was simply crystalline. Some got right craving of sunshine. But that would vary, being further inland would bring, usually, higher temps. I was a dozen or so blocks from the bay on two sides.
I'm confused about the extra .5 liter of water........ why is there extra? I though 8 glasses of 8 ounces (or 64 ounces total) was almost exactly 2 liters.
Osso, I'm looking forward to fall! We were in this area in January a couple of years ago and it was gorgeous, so I'm hoping that the comparitively mild fall and winter here will make up for the not-so-summery summers....Also, we're planning on taking a drive inland to Willow Creek sometime soon, so I can get a fix of real summer heat to tide me over. Can't wait!
