In the UK we are having a heatwave!!
I cant believe the heat.Even tho the temperature is less high than yesterday its very humid.
Im yuckily sweaty.

Im actually approaching the end of my 1.5L bottle of water and im planning to put some smaller bottles in the fridge tonight so I can use them tomorrow.
Anybody else not completely enjoying the weather?

Yep....been stuck in a non air conditioned court today, in suit and tie. I am rather moist, and am just about to go home and chuck myself under the shower.

Extremely humid, to say the least.

No air conditioning!!!!

I have 2 fans and all the windows open and Im wearing a skirt(and top) and im still uncomfortably hot!!

Just about to finish the last of my water!!!Hope I make it home before I faint with thirst.

Your comment brings up the issue of what men should be allowed to wear when its hot like this.

I think its ridiculous and unfair that men should wear shirt and tie in weather this hot!

It is supposed to get up to 106 here by Saturday.

106?!

Oregon is usually quite cool. This is crazy!

We don't have air conditioning either as typically you only use it a few days a year. We tried to make weekend reservations at the beach where it will be nice and cool but everyone else had the same idea and there isn't a room to be had.

I'm headed out today to buy one of those biggish swimming pools so we will at least have a place to cool off. Still, I'm bound to be a very grouchy girl.

In the iffice it's OK, but in court....nah. Full dress code, for the men anyway.

The ladies can wear pretty much what they like.

Men always suffer......

Surely a place of emplyment should take the right measures to make sure their emplyees are comfortable in al weathers!!Its rediculoys.

When its winter here (Im the first person in) and I have to sit here cold for about an hour while the heater that I put on as soon as I come in warms the place up.
Very unfair.the bosses compalin when thy are cold!!

Courts come under Crown buildings, MG...they don't have to abide by the usual rules of health and safety.

Other "normal" work places have minimum amd maximum temp limits that personnel can work in, or not, as the case may be.

whata bunch wimps you brits are.

I had to encase my head in dry ice to prevent my brain from melting just walking across the parking lot to my car yesterday.

I carry a bag of marshmallows and a stick around for when someone next to me spontaneously combusts.

Ya'll come on down South with Moi'.......its a lovely 100 or so...yesterday it was 105.

Quote:
Mostly sunny and hot, with a high around 104. Heat index values as high as 110. South wind around 5 mph.

You could cut the humidity with a knife! I haven't worn makeup in weeks because it just melts.....and headed out to town in an half hour, looking like "whodathunkit".

Ahhh yeah...husband is headed out to lay blocks on a foundation for a new home...bright sun shine, no shade.

I went yesterday with him, and thought I was going to die!

Lets just say.."I had sweaty spots where there shouldn't be any sweaty spots! Just gross......."

Oh you crack me up...

It's so HUMID here too. It's only 80 degrees but seriously, it feels like mid 90s. It's ridiculous.

My AC bill was so high, I almost contemplated turning the air down...and then after getting a whiff of my pits after being outside, reconsidered.

heard on the BBC-news (via CBC) that in some parts of britain newly paved roads were sticking to the tires and that gravel was poured on the roads to prevent further 'sticking to the tires' ?

eastern lake ontario : actually pretty decent weather - around 30 C , rain once or twice a week , air-conditioner keeps the house at around 25 C - no major complaints .
still , it feels good to go to the swimming pool in the morning and live like a fish for an hour - also fires up the appetite when we get home for breakfast - bacon and eggs always tastes good after the swim Smile .

I heard on the radio that some air conditioning units stop working if it gets too hot!

I froze some water in a bottle over night so I have a refreshing drink all day.

Hahaha! I'm OFF today, so I don't have to wear a suit.

Instead, I shall be strolling round the garden in nothing but my union jack thong, stuffed with ice cubes.

The last time I did this, the cat went missing for a week.

Well, she did have a month of cat therapy afterwards.

Since then, whenever she sees a parsnip, she scoots out of the catflap.
