Some famous work works of Mark Twain

His best known works would probably be "Tom Sawyer" and "Huckleberry Finn" (which I regard as a masterwork, although it has been greatly criticised by people ignorant of both its historical context and its actual position as racist).

I love both of them, especially Huck Finn.....


I also love "A Connecticut Yankee In King Arthur's Court".

I remember not understanding why Huck finn was considered such a great book. Then it was pointed out me. Is it possable for me to be smart and dumb at the same time? I am just smart enough to realize that there is something about Twain I don't comprehend intill somebody explains it to me. In a way it is as if he is too mature for me. ..........

I do however have "A pen warmed up in hell" by Twain

I'm just reading Huckleberry Finn now for the first time. (So many of the classics are now available on line.) I'm thoroughly enjoying it, slowing down to pronounce and fully understand all the various dialects presented.

I'm about midway. Huck and Jim have just been joined by two vagabonds on the raft, each claiming a royal pedigree. This is pure joy. What a treasure we have in Twain.
