i know these are song titles. but i wanna know why many people uses 'boo' word as someone but why can't i see the meaning in the dictionary?
hollaback girl? what does this mean? what about ' i'm gonna hollaback at you'? mean
Is there a dictionary i can buy to look for these words?
hollaback = holler back
it means to call someone back, or get back to them.
more definitions can be found
here.
can't help you with "boo"...
I think they are both Street Slang.
Holla back I reckon is Holler back.
Boo, as in m boo, might be derived from my beau, which
is the french word for pretty, beautiful. I am not sure of this, however.
hollaback and boo
I think Boo is a term of affection for someone you may be fond of or a boyfriend / girlfriend.
Hollaback in the context of the song i think refers to engaging in a war of words or bitching at eatch other.
just to "holla" at someone is meaning to get in touch by phone, to call round or email etc

I'm not sure if it still is, but "What is a hollaback girl" was one of the top questions asked at Ask.com (formerly AskJeeves.com)
Holla back girl-Maybe all will be revealed listening to Gwen Stefani's song.
I thought Boo refered to a boyfriend or a significant other.
Boo does, as far as I know, refer to a significant other, though I am woefully out of date with my knowledge of slang.
I wish Gwen's song gave some clue, but I don't think it does. It just says "I ain't no hollaback girl" repeatedly, and talks about kicking someone's ass.
Just read Gwens lyrics.I think some guy was talking badly about her, maybe 'dissing her, and instead of giving him a load of verbal she is gona kick butt instead.Ie I dont talk back, I fight.
I picture that fight going something like West Side Story, with lots of dancing and rhyming words being thrown around. Leather jackets, cigarette packs rolled into sleeves, switchblades. The whole shebang.
why won't they put 'boo' in the dictionary... since it's very use often.
same with me, can't understand the song hollaback girl.

When you say "They" who do you mean? The oxford English Dictionary people? Suppose you could try writing to them. If enough people did I wonder if they would have to bow to public demand? mmmmmmmmmmm.
