I warned you that it was borderling pornographic, little k.
Like I said, I thought it was over the top but the guys seemed to dig it.
I'm glad it didn't come over as big as it seemed in the preview.
I sent one to dadpad too - we'll see what someone in the industry thinks....
Like I said, Boomer, I think it's funny. And, I'm not really offended. I am just, like Freeduck says about the internet company, just surprised they'd go that far in a business context. But, it is largely a man's industry I imagine.
boomerang wrote:But the shirt says "Is that your hardwood or are you just happy to see me?"
That's offensive and "entirely sexist"?
Uh-oh.
I must be
way more of a lad than I thought I was ... (cause i dont see anything wrong with it at all ... just a snarky bit of fun ..)
(Course, I havent seen the pic..)
Now if you just showed the dude in his work overalls sporting some wood with a "load flag" on the end of his zipper, I think that would be ok with the thought police.
"we do it with hard wood"(kinda trite but still a classic)
"wood , when its hard its good" (have no idea what that even means)
"got wood?" (this may offend the Bush supporters, )
" we can service your every wood need"(show some guys carrying boards on their "fluffed up chubbies"
oooohhh, overalls, no shirt, big and beefy - holding a log in his right hand, down by his fly..... yeaaahhhh. I think you should have two tees, one for the men and one for the women.
<snork>
Oh that is soooooo tempting!
Maybe - a hardwood man is good to find.
I think I should take this into photo studio creation mode and find a male model for the women's T.
So, Booms, are you a source of hickory - say, in 1 1/2 x 1 1/2, or thereabouts?
I don't want this to follow Roger's excellent post, but what the hell.
This all reminds me of a catalog I've saved for years from some godforsaken tree company.... it had photos of various trees in 24, 36, 48, and 72" boxes, with female members of the company posing sadiy unfetchingly next to each tree. It was so lame it became a treasure never to throw away.
Er, not that your tee shirt is lame, boom. Just the whole advert thing is sort of the last bastion of individual inventiveness.
The slogan itself I don't mind, but okay, with a naked chick picture...I think I'd be offended. I can see how you'd have, hmmm, that not-so-fresh feeling with being involved in the production of such a thing....
hey dadpad. Im a woodworking enthusiast and Ive always bemoaned that A2K had no woodworking fora, I joined up , I hope theres some good talk on tips and tricks.
PS, in the other thread you showed a grove of trees, which I asked about the species. You hadnt answered .
That is exactly what I told Mr. B, dadpad, that it was too much. It seems that your friends agree.
I'm afraid I really stuck my foot in it. Now I'm going to have to try to talk him out of it. Maybe I should come up with a new, better design.
Osso, one of my favorite catalogues is from a photo supply house that has the most disintersted models showing off backdrops and props. It always leaves me smiling for it's absolute lameness.
Most of the wood that Mr. B deals with has already been milled into flooring so I don't know if it would be suitable for other types of woodworking projects. However, he is always looking for ideas to use the scrap on so I am open to suggestions. Mo and I use a lot of it for train tracks because the flip side is grooved just right to fit all of his trains.
This particular naked chick strikes just the right tone, though -- she's a cartoon, and silly and cheesy and vintage-y (boomer told me who she is via PM and I went "oh of course!" but I won't say here in case there are any copyright problems or whatever... are there? Can you just use the image?)
Also the subheading adds a lot.
I agree with Master Splinter's comment.

I'm pleased you found it interesting FM there are a few clowns on that board but I'm sure you will sort the wood from the forest. watch for the peculiar Aust sense of humour.
Its a big site with lots of Aussies and there are a few internationals as well.

now this might be a bit technical for you mate but if you scroll past your last post in that thread you will find something of interest.

Boomer
Do not try to talk him out of it just show him the poll and comments in the other forum.
perhaps a T shirt for those extra special customers that you know will accept it well. collectors item if you will.
Well now I'm feeling kind of bad. I put this thing together and it has his company name on it and, you know, I don't know......
I wonder what the guy commenting about wives and girlfriends reaction to it would think if they knew a girl had designed it.
I'm a disgrace to girlhood.
As far as the number going out - I think it is less than 20. Their customers tend to be big companies that distrubute to other, smaller companies. They don't sell directly to the consumer market. It's not like there will be hundreds of these wandering around town.
It is kind of out of my hands now but boy have I ever learned a lesson.
rule 1 the customer is always right.
rule 2. if the customer is wrong see rule 1.
In this case the customer is mr Bs company
Lots of companies do nudie thing for their special clients. If you were a man you would see them in tea rooms and on bathroom walls, its just that they are kept away from the public eye.
dont sweat it. I let mumpad see it and cold _erin My 18 year old daughter they both laughed.
Wanna know how dumb I am? I thought..... "Thanks and Appreciation" day sounded..... well...... awkward. After looking at the design for a minute or so I had to smack my self on the forehead.
DOH!
I love the T, but would never wear it in public; maybe if she were just a bit more in profile. I agree that the cartoon sets just the right tone of campiness. I also like "T&A day."
"We've got your wood morning, noon, and night."
