Man who robbed a bank goes naked in an attempt to avoid police

CKNW(AM980) - Sometimes, the bad guys go out of their way to get caught, even if they think they won't be.

Take the case of the man who robbed a bank in the 1900 block of Willingdon yesterday afternoon.

In an effort to elude the police, he decided to get rid of the clothes he was wearing.

But the cab driver he tried to flag down realized the naked man was probably someone he shouldn't pick up.

The robber then sprinted to the closest Skytrain station to try to get on a train.

Although he dispatched his wardrobe, he wasn't light enough for the fully clothed police officers who chased him down as he ran.

The 27 year old now faces charges and will be in court today, wearing new clothes, jail issued.

This sounds similar to that time when a robber decided to take all his clothes off so he could fit through some skylight, but then realised he couldn't get back out again.

You would think that without clothes he'd have outstripped pursuit. He'll soon be before judge and jury though and have to face the naked truth.

Yes I'm fairly certain it is twain. I Googeled it and could find several sites attributing the quote to Twain's but no site on Twain that claimed the quote.

It probably should have been Groucho Marx Laughing
