Man accused of DUI - on lawnmower
VERMILION, Ohio - Police said a drunken man drove a lawnmower to a store about a mile from his house. They arrested him on his way home.
Dondi Bowles, 50, was arrested Friday night as he drove the mower on a sidewalk.
Police said a breath test showed that Bowles' blood alcohol level was 0.144 percent, nearly twice the legal limit of 0.08 percent.
It was his third DUI arrest in six months, they said.
The lawnmower was towed.
Vermilion is on Lake Erie, about 40 miles west of Cleveland.
I don't know where you keep finding these stories, but keep them comin'.
This is too easy.
It's a good thing he was caught before he mowed somebody down!
You're right. That was too easy. Now cut it out.
Ha!
Yep, this is not unheard of. The idea behind the law is to eliminate some loopholes. While you can't go too fast on a lawnmower or tractor, you can still do damage.
I wish I could sit in at his trial hearing

In the desert between CA and AZ they actually have police on 3-wheelers
now to cite the guys in dune buggies for DUI's as the accidents there have
increased so drastically.
Thank goodness he didn't clip anyone.
I heard he really mowed 'em down.
I'm imagining something like this:
But with more beer.
Haha, great picture, and so appropriate
You've really got to weed out irresponsible drivers like that guy.
I'll just bet they chased him down in this:

It's an artform that only a rare few can master.
Didnt Reyn - or someone - post a story about a criminal who tried to escape on a lawnmower? Cops had a big laugh "chasing" him..
