The Best and the Worst of Things

I was thinking about this on the way back from lunch today and thought it might be interesting.

I love my husband. I love being married. I wouldn't go back "out there" (the singles scene)for the world. But I sometimes get tired of having someone to worry about other than myself. Maybe not everyone does it but it's in my nature to protect and care for those I love so I don't have a choice. My husband, who can be a taker, sometimes forgets all of the things I do to make sure he's well taken care of and it burns my ass like hot coals.

So it got me thinking...if it has a best, it must have a worst (not that taking care of him is the worst!). Which brings me to my fun little game/get to know your fellow A2Kers. Choose something in your life, anything, and tell us the best part of it and the worst part of it. It doesn't have to be 100% serious. Here's an example of what I mean:

The best thing about being married is that you have someone there who "gets you" during those times that you barely get yourself.

The worst thing about being married is the wet towel on the bed that's been sitting there all day and has now made my side of the bed all damp and icky.

Now, you try it. Very Happy

The best thing about being an recovering alcoholic is you never have to worry about getting drunk and doing something you don't remember the next day.
The worst thing is being an alcoholic.

The best thing about living in New England are those glorious fall days:
startlingly blue skies, warm sun offset by cool winds, a riot of colorful foliage.

The worst thing is that there only about four such days (in a good year).

The best thing about having principles is that they can help guide you through life.

The worst thing about having principles is standing by them, even when it would be easier not to. Otherwise your principles have no meaning.

The best thing about having something to believe in is that it gives you a touchstone, something to aspire to, and can help you get through the tough times.

The worst thing about having something to believe in is that you will sometimes have to defend the fact that you believe in it.

The best thing about having 3 cats, 3 birds and a snake is that you have unconditional love coming at you in stereo surround sound.

The worst part is that you don't own a single stitch of clothing that doesn't have bird poop and cat hair on it and you can never take a vacation that lasts longer than an overfilled bowl of kibble.

Boy, do I hear you, Aldistar! Laughing

My pet one would be, the best thing about having two cats, two rabbits and a guinea pig is that there's always something funny or cute going on.

The worst thing about it is writing "two cats, two rabbits, and a guinea pig" on rental applications... Confused

The best thing about being self-employed is making your own hours and working at 3am or 3pm.

The worst is having no health insurance and realizing that you or your husband could get sick and lose the house.

The best thing about having a dog is the unconditional love you get even after you've yelled your head off and called them all the names in the book.

The worst thing about having a dog is the guilt you feel when they look up at you with those big, sad eyes after having yelled your head off and calling them every name in the book.

Zoe pulled one of these on me last night. Confused I am such a bad fur-mommy.

The best part about being a traveller is the excitement and challenge that comes from learning something new every day.

The worst part is struggling to find someone who gets you well enough to share it with.
