Yes...Yes, I like this very much...Henceforward, I shall be referred to by all of you as the Great Tabby, Bringer of Truth.

Unless you were already in the way of calling me Pooky, in that case, as you were.

As Letty mentioned June 6 was D-Day, the date of the Normandy invasion. I can not hear that date without immediately thinking of WWII. Must be a generational thing.

I had a grandfather who was a WWII vet, and he died in the month of June 7 years ago. I see the month the same way, flyboy.

What else would you think about on D-Day?

6th June 1942 was my mother's wedding day, and 6th June 2006 was the day I chose for her funeral. We had Brahms requiem, Faure and at the end The Lark Ascending by Vaughan Williams. I read a few lines from Wordsworth. The Minister conducted procedings wonderfully. The flowers were beautiful. We gave her a service worthy of her memory. Thats all I want to say about 6th June 2006.

I'm sorry, Steve. That's a sad occasion. It sounds like you made it as beautiful as you could, though. And she lived a long life, that's a gift..

My deepest condolences, Steve.

Losing one's mother, at whatever age and from whatever cause, is always very difficult. Be gentle with yourself for a while.

Sure it is! That's perfectly normal. Things will settle down in a week or two, but your world will be a little different then. Meanwhile, please take good care of yourself. Especially after all the people leave.
