July 1, 2003 the rate charged for Sallie Mae student loans will be falling below 4%. Looks like it might go to 3.5%, lowest level since the 1950s. Rolling Eyes

Well, interest rates are super-low these days, so it makes sense. Otherwise the loan program wouldn't be able to compete with other lenders.
