Does anyone know the relationship between the ferret and the otter in Alice in Wonderland?

Alice in Wonderland
Otter is a character in "The Wind in the Willoows" by Kenneth Grahame. Ferrets appear as soldiers near the end of the book, having occupied Toad Hall. However, I don't believe that Otter appears in that scene.

The four animals who throw out the ferrets are Toad, Rat, Mole, and Badger.
