I know about MS-13. Their roots may be Salvadoran, but the members aren't necessarily. They were in my former California community, and it was getting ugly. I told the story here of how they would sell drugs and hide them on private property (other people's private property). Most didn't believe me.

Just before we finally left, a car drove up to our house, one guy got out, walked to the back of the lot, and stole our aluminum recycling.

Somehow I don't think he was after the beer cans.

The federal government will not stop or correct the problem. Why????

Instead they set America up for the worst case senario. Why?

They leave me, you, The minutemen and law enforcement in the middle.

This thread is unbelievable. Well, it's like most political threads.

Cjsha, would you like for me to bring something back for you the next time we go to Mexico?

Sure, a cookbook.

The best Mexican cookbook I've found was written by an Irish expatriate, Diana Kennedy.

And some rare dried chiles.

If you don't have enough money for the cookbook, maybe you could trade Dys.

Amigo - thanks!

Does anyone know about the legal side of this legislation? Do employees pay taxes? Do the employers have the same responsibilities towards this guest workers as they would towards a citizen workforce?

Kennedy was the first to catalog recipes in a major way, I think. I think I bought the book and gave it to a friend as a gift, schniff.

I don't know what to make of this guy, other than he's an idiot. The only illegal aliens I've ever seen on a golf course were crossing it. I also take offense at our media's use of the term "illegal immigrants". They aren't immigrants, they're aliens.

Bloomberg: Illegal immigrants help golfers
NEW YORK, April 1 (UPI) -- New York Mayor Michael Bloomberg says golf fairways would suffer if illegal immigrants were returned to their native country.

"You and I are beneficiaries of these jobs," Bloomberg told his WABC-AM radio co-host, John Gambling. "You and I both play golf; who takes care of the greens and the fairways in your golf course?"

However, Robert Heaney, general manager of Deepdale Golf Club -- a Long Island course where Bloomberg often plays -- told The New York Daily News that no illegal immigrants work at the club.

"Deepdale Golf Club has always been in 100 percent compliance with all immigration laws, and it is absolutely our policy to remain in compliance with all immigration laws," Heaney said.

The mayor also said 25 percent of undocumented immigrants are farm workers and many are home healthcare workers.

I think it was k who asked me about the role Catholicism played in this.

http://www.nytimes.com/2006/03/27/national/27immig.html

quote:
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

One of the most powerful institutions behind the wave of public protests has been the Roman Catholic Church, lending organizational muscle to a spreading network of grass-roots coalitions. In recent weeks, the church has unleashed an army of priests and parishioners to push for the legalization of the nation's illegal immigrants, sending thousands of postcards to members of Congress and thousands of parishioners into the streets.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

NOTE the use of term "illegal immigrant" by the NY Times. No such thing folks. But that's what their editors demand.

I don't think the majority of them have any intention of becoming citizens.

Maybe we need a new thread to propose what to call these folks other than "illegal" whatever.

I propose "Trespassing Bastards".

I have lots of reasons. But it isn't that hard to figure out. Maybe if you looked at the first page of the thread?

I've read every page. You started by saying the reason is as plain on the nose on our faces (not), said it was about disrespect and then showed a picture of a latino letting a flag touch the ground while talking on a cell phone.

We're on page 27 and I don't understand why you assume that the guy (?) in the picture is an illegal and what's behind your animosity. I understand about the gang issues in your old neighborhood, but still don't understand how that directly relates to whether the individuals are here legally or not.
