Actually, Shannon is going to a new assignment in Japan. At the moment he's back in the U.S. on business, but will be completely moved by the middle of July.
Korea not that dangerous...
I'm currently living in South Korea and was in the DMZ (as a tourist) last week.
No heightened alarms, no big deal is being made of anything by the South Koreans. They aren't worried, so why should we?
As a foreigner living in Korea, I can tell you that my friends and I are often fielding questions from our friends and families back home. It's all just business as usual.
Yes, there are American troops here, but a lot less since Iraq started up again.
The question should be "How Dangerous is America?" that is the only country which possesses highest number of nuclear weapons & has bombarded one on a neighbor of Korea.
