if you were a character in a movie, what would be your theme song, eg. what song would be playing as you walked down the street?
Gawd - I've had a few. In fact I used to spend a lot of time walking down the street with whatever it was playing at the same time.
Three I can distinctly remember are:
Koyanisqaatsi - Phil Glass
Heaven - Mr Blonde
Born of Frustration - James
Save yourself - Stabbing Westward
Heaven must be there - Eurogliders
Powderfinger - Neil Young
Forbidden Colours - Sakamoto/Sylvian
Won't get fooled again - The Who
Mad World - Tears For Fears (Before it became acoustic)
Making plans for Nigel - XTC
OKOKOK I know that's more than three.
I even remember using the original Star Wars intro on my ghetto blaster to announce my arrival at the local music store.....
I'd be happy with any of these:
Barber's Adagio For Strings
Being Alive -Bernadette Peters
Don't Worry, Be Happy-Bobby McFerrin
Wondering Where the Lions Are-Bruce Cockburn
Life Is Eternal-Carly Simon
Theme from "Shaft"-Isaac Hayes
Come On Come On- Mary Chapin Carpenter
Unwritten- Natasha Bedingfield
Princes of the Universe- Queen
and a whole lot of others.
From what I can think of right now:
Elevation - U2
Quote: A star
Lit up like a cigar
Strung out like a guitar
Maybe you can educate my mind
Jumper - Third Eye Blind
Quote:And I, I want you to know
Everyone's got to face down the demons
Talk - Coldplay
Quote:You tell anyone who'll listen but you feel ignored
Nothing's really making any sense at all, let's talk
Let's talk, let's talk, let's talk
Man for All Seasons - Robbie Williams
Quote:Queen and country safe and sound, with villains six feet under
ground.
And no one knows cause no ones found any trace of a man for all
seasons.
Me it would be some gangstah song.
ramblin man - allman brothers
It changes daily. Right now,
A Pirate Looks at 40:
Yes, I am a pirate, two hundred years too late
The cannons don't thunder, there's nothin' to plunder
I'm an over-forty victim of fate
Arriving too late, arriving too late
But I've done a bit of smugglin', I've run my share of grass
Made enough money to buy Miami, but I pissed it away so fast
Never meant to last, never meant to last
I have been drunk now for over two weeks,
Passed out and I rallied and I sprung a few leaks
But I've got stop wishin', got to go fishin'
I'm down to rock bottom again
Just a few friends, just a few friends...
Mine changes most days for for the largest part I think I might go with "And She Was" by the Talking Heads.
Callas singing Gluck's J'ai perdu mon Eurydice Act IV 1961 (as it says on the list) - it always stops me in my tracks..
I personally can't carry a tune, eh.
if im happy "Flowers in the Window" - Travis
if im feeling especially loved "every time we touch" - Cascada
if im feeling a bit emo "Nothing Better" - Postal Service
if im feeling chill "Crips" - Ratatat
if im feeling seductive "la tortura" - Shakira
if im feeling off-base "Listen to Me" - The Hiss
if im feeling nostalgic "Run" - Snow Patrol
if im feeling regretful "Carry Me Ohio" - Sun Kil Moon
etc. for each mood
