I have had a very sad day, followed by a rahter rowdy evening.
The good thing is that we al l ended up rather more cheerful than we began.
Sorry about the sad part.
Does this have something to do with cricket or footie or one of those Brit sports?
A funeral of a very good frien, who wanted us to all have a bloody good time.
Oh, that's much more sad.
I'm sorry.
Yep. What can i say. Over 200 people ther and lots of laughter, which was weird I soppose. Lovely guy. I knew him since I was 4.
I think Ill just go to bed now. I will leave my alter ego for now, and change back to old LE in the morning.
I actually cried today. Bloody rare that.
See you guys tomorrow.
My condolences on your friends passing, Lord E. Go get yourself some shuteye.
Hang in there.
And I follow the emu's kisses with hugs, L.E.
aaawww Spanky, I am sorry for your loss.
Friends ending up cheerful over a remembered life.
That's how I want to go out.
I'm very sorry for your loss, Lord.
(((((((Montana Hug))))))))
Sorry to hear it, LordE. Glad you honored your friend's wishes....
Best way - funeral first, then on with the wake! That's how I plan to go.
Well, couldn't really sleep and have visited the smallest room on several occasions, in order to speak to huey on the big white phone. I haven't done THAT for quite a few years.
I am now having a large glass of milk and a handful of biscuits, and feel much better.
I apologize for being such an idiot and promise to avoid the computer at all costs when next I overdo it on the abbot ale.
I would imagine that there will be quite a few people absent from work in North London tomorrow. Fortunately, I don't start back until Monday, as my brother is over from France (for the funeral) and is staying on 'til the weekend.
He, the lucky bugger, is one of those annoying sods who can sleep like a baby after a heavy session, whereas I'm the exact opposite.
My intention was to write a bit about our mate, in a humorous way, but as they say "in vino veritas" and my true mood quickly surfaced.
I now feel a lot better physically, but on the mental side, I now see I have been bottling things up a bit. Well....I am a bloke, so it's allowed, right?
One things for certain, I ain't gonna do THIS again. (insert embarrased emotiwotsit here)
Thanks for your kind words, people. I will now try to line my stomach with the aforementioned fruits of the night time kitchen raid, and browse the threads for a bit.
When I am back to normal, I will maybe tell you a bit about my mate Mike. The saga of his eyebrows just has to be put down in writing somewhere.
Oh, that's very sad...since you were 4 you say?
A lifetime of friendship...you have that to be grateful for.
If your friend left a widow, she'll need someone like you for awhile.
Oh, I'm so sorry to hear that LE. Life. Wishing you strength...
I'm sorry, Ellpy, and await some of your memories..
Yep, lookin' forward to the eyebrow tale...
Take care.
