Another dynamite Patsy Cline cut is -

Leavin on Your Mind
Wayne Walker, Webb Pierce

If you got leavin' on your mind,
Tell me now, get it over,
Hurt me now, get it over,
If you got leavin' on your mind.
If there's a new love in your heart,
Tell me now, get it over,
Hurt me now, get it over,
If there's a new love in your heart.
Don't leave me here in a world
Filled with dreams that might have been,
Hurt me now, get it over
I may learn to love again.
If there's a new love in your heart,
Tell me now, get it over,
Hurt me now, get it over
If there's a new love in your heart,
Hurt me now, get it over,
If there's a new love in your heart.

Anything that girl sang was dynamite.

Sweet dreams of you
Every night I go through
I should hate you the whole night through
Instead of having sweet dreams about you

You don't love me, it's plain
I should know I'll never wear your ring
Why can't I forget you and start living life anew
Instead of having sweet dreams about you

Sweet dreams of you
Things I know can't come true
Why can't I forget the past
Start loving someone new
Instead of having sweet dream about you.

Somebody hand me a tissue...

The sappiest of all country songs...makes me cry every time... Crying or Very sad

He Stopped Loving Her Today by George Jones

He said, "I'll love you 'til I die."
She told him, "You'll forget in time."
As the years went slowly by,
She still prayed upon his mind.

He kept her picture on the wall.
Went half crazy now and then.
But he still loved her through it all,
Hoping she'd come back again.

Kept some letters by his bed,
Dated 1962.
He had underlined in red
Every single "I love you".

I went to see him just today,
But I didn't see no tears.
All dressed up to go away,
First time I'd seen him smile in years.

He stopped loving her today,
They placed a wreath upon his door,
And soon they'll carry him away,
He stopped loving her today.

You know, she came to see him last time.
And we were all wonderin' if she would.
And it kept runnin' through my mind,
"This time he's over her for good".

He stopped loving her today,
They placed a wreath upon his door,
And soon they'll carry him away,
He stopped loving her today.

<swoon> I love you people. I knew this would bring out some goodies. Smile

This one is dedicated to my friend Chucky. I also used a bit of it for my sig. line when I first joined A2K.

Pirates Of The Mississippi Lyrics - Feed Jake Lyrics

I'm standing at the crossroads in life, and I don't know where to go.
You know you've got my heart babe, but my music's got my soul.
Let me play it one more time, I'll tell the truth and make it rhyme,
And hope they understand me.

Now I lay me down to sleep, I pray the Lord my soul to keep.
If I die before I wake, feed Jake, he's been a good dog,
My best friend right through it all, if I die before I wake,
Feed Jake

Now Broadway's like a sewer, bums and hookers everywhere.
Whino's passed out on the side walk, doesn't anybody care.
Some say he's worthless, just let him be.
But I for one would have to disagree.
And so would their mama.

<chorus>

If you get an ear pierced, some will call you gay.
But if you drive a pick-up, they'll say 'No, he must be straight.'
What we are and what we ain't, what we can and what we can't,
Does it really matter?

Wishful, I know that song "He Stopped Loving Her Today" is almost thirty years old but I heard of it for the first time the other night. It was #2 on the 100 best C & W songs of all times list. Man! Talk about a heavy-hitter. It blew me away.

Hal Ketchum -- I miss my Mary

A threadbare alibi.....a lifetime full of promise
Fell from my Mary's eyes as she saw the screen door swing
The baby never woke......he lay cradled in her trembling
He lay safe and never knowing what my leavin would bring

I draw my pay down on the docks.....I send it off to Mary
I might hold back a dollar to wash this pain out of my back
But the pain keeps getting clearer and Mary your face just keeps on fading
Now the light shines through this bottle....memories all fade to black

(Chorus)
Well I'll see you out on the street tonight
I'm a lover of a drink, a lover of a fight
Hold my own on the dark side of this town
Yes, I'm tough as nails, got a heart of steel
I will never fear, for I will never feel
And one more round would surely set me right
I miss my Mary tonight

They call me the old man in this bar, sleeves rolled up and showin
Faint blue souvenirs of love and places I have been
One says "US Navy" and this one says "Darling Mary"
Now my Mary's turned to ashes and the ocean's turned to gin

(Repeat Chorus)

And one more round would surely set me right
I miss my Mary tonight

a cut from Asleep at the Wheel's tribute album to Bob Wills & the Texas Playboys is Garth Brooks rendition of
Deep Water
Western Swing at it's finest

I'm drifting in to Deep Water, I'm starting to care for you
And you're getting me in Deep Water, be careful what you do
Now you want to romance, but I'm seeking love, I know I'll be ready when it ends
Cause I'm winding up in Deep Water, why can't we just be friends ?

Now it's restless in this Deep Water, I'm lost between what's right and wrong
And my love is true as Deep Water, your love won't last as long
Now where will it lead me, and where will it end? I can't help but wish I only knew
Cause I'm winding up in Deep Water, so deep in love with you

I Don't Need Your Rockin' Chair
George Jones

(Chorus:)
I don't need your rockin' chair
Your Geritol or your Medicare
Well I still got Neon in my veins
This grey hair don't mean a thing
I do my rockin' on the stage
You can't put this possum in a cage
My body's old but it ain't impaired
Well I don't need your rockin' chair

I ain't ready for the junkyard yet
Cause I still feel like a new corvette
It might take a little longer but I'll get there
Well I don't need your rockin' chair

(Repeat chorus)

Retirement don't fit in my plans
You can keep your seat I'm a gonna stand
An Eskimo needs a Fridgedaire
Like I need your rockin' chair

(Repeat chorus)

My body's old but it ain't impaired
Well I don't need your rockin' chair

Yeah, I like the nick names as well....here is one from "The Killer"

Crazy Arms
Jerry Lee Lewis

Now blue ain't the word for the way that I feel
That old storm brewing in this heart of mine
Someday crazy arms will hold somebody new
but now I'm so lonely all the time

Crazy arms that needs to hold somebody new
while your heart keeps sayin' your not mine not mine not mine not mine my troubled minds grows blue to another you'll be wed
but now I'm so lonely all the time

Now take all those precious dreams I had for you and me
and take all that love I thought was mine
Some day your crazy arms will hold somebody new
But now I'm so lonely all the time

Crazy arms that reach to hold somebody new
While my yearning heart keeps saying your not mine not mine not mine not mine
my troubled mind goes blue to another you'll be wed
but now I'm so lonely all the time

Hank Locklin - It's a Little More Like Heaven

I have sailed across the waters of the ocean deep and blue
Felt the rapture of the dawning thrilled to sunset golden hue
I have flown above the mountain peeks and valleys great and wide
But it's a little more like heaven by your side

It's a little more like heaven where you are
I have sought for happiness both near and far
But my search for love was through the day that I met you
Cause it's a little more like heaven where you are

I have watched the crystal raindrops fall to earth to cool the day
Watched the rainbow at twilight when the clouds have blown away
I've adored the clinging roses round my mountain home so dear
But it's a little more like heaven when you're near

It's a little more like heaven where you are
I have sought for happiness both near and far
But my search for love was through the day that I met you
Cause it's a little more like heaven where you are

I have been tempted for a moment by aluring magic charms
Of fickle flame and beauty while waltzing in her arms
I cherrished mem'ries of the past of friends so kind and true
But it's a little more like heaven dear with you

It's a little more like heaven where you are
I have sought for happiness both near and far
But my search for love was through the day that I met you
Cause it's a little more like heaven where you are
Cause it's a little more like heaven where you are

Heartaches By the Number - Ray Price

Heartache number 1 was when you...left me,
I never knew that I could hurt this way,
And heartache number 2,
Was when you...come back again,
You came back and never meant to stay.

Chorus
Now I've got heartaches by the number,
Troubles by the score,
Every day you love me less,
Each day I love you more,
Yes, I've got heartaches by the number,
A love that I can't win,
But the day that I stop counting,
That's the day my world will end.

Heartache number 3 was when you...called me,
And said that you was coming back to stay,
With hopeful heart I waited,
For your...knock on the door,
I waited but you must have lost your way.

I believe this song should be included, because Gene Autrey did the original version.

Blueberry Hill

I found my thrill on Blueberry Hill
Oh Blueberry Hill when I found you

The moon stood still on Blueberry Hill
And lingered until my dreams came true

*Tho' wind in the willow played
Love's sweet melody
But all of those vows you made
Were never to be
Tho' we're apart, you're part of me still
For you were my thrill on Blueberry Hill

(Repeat *)

Little Jimmy Dickens - Out Behind the Barn

My pappy used to tan my hide
Out behind the barn
He taught me to be dignified
Out behind the barn
But when he took that strap to me,
And turned me down across his knee
He sure did hurt my dignity
Out behind the barn

I got my education
Out behind the barn
And I'm not foolin' no siree
Passed each examination
Out behind the barn
But it almost made a wreck out of me

I smoked my first cigarette
Out behind the barn
And that's one day I won't forget
Out behind the barn
I got so sick, you should've seen
How that tobacco turned me green
I almost died from nicotine
Out behind the barn

I met a pretty girl one day
Out behind the barn
She wanted me to stay and play
Out behind the barn
She taught me how to kiss and pet
And that's a game I won't forget
Cause we still play the same game yet
Out behind the barn

I wish I could go again
Out behind the barn
And do some things I did then
Out behind the barn
Now you think it ain't no fun
To be a poor old farmers son
You just don't know what all I've done
Out behind the barn

Marty Robbins out on the western plain -
Ghost Riders in the Sky

Yippie-I-a, yippie-I-o
Ghost riders in the sky

An old cowpoke went ridin' out one dark and windy day
(yippie-I-a)
Upon a ridge he rested as he went along his way
When all at once a mighty bunch of red eyed cows he saw
Plowin' through the ragged sky, and up a cloudy draw

Yippie-I-a, yippie-I-o
Ghost riders in the sky

Their brands were still on fire and their hoofs were made of steel
( yippie-I-a)
Their horns were black and shinny and their hot breath he could feel
A bolt of fear went through him as they thundered through the sky
He saw the riders commin' hard, and he heard their mournful cry

Yippie-I-a, yippie-I-o
Ghost riders in the sky

Their faces gaunt, their eyes were blurred,
Their shirts all soaked with sweat. (yippie-I-a)
They're ridin' hard to catch that herd, but they aint caught 'em yet'
'Cause ya gotta ride forever on that range up in the sky,
On horses snorting fire, as they ride on, hear their cry.

Yippie-I-a, yippie-I-o
Ghost riders in the sky

As the riders went on by him, he heard one call his name
(yippie-I-a)
If you wantta to save your soul from ever ridin' on our range,
Then cowboy change your way today, or with us you will ride,
Tryin' to catch the devil's herd, across these endless skies

Yippie-I-a, yippie-I-o
Ghost riders in the sky
Ghost riders in the sky

I am not a huge Garth Brooks fan but this is one song that gets to me. I love the lyrics and the music.

That Summer
Written by: - Pat Alger- Sandy Mahl-Brooks - Garth Brooks

I went to work for her that summer
A teenage kid so far from home
She was a lonely widow woman
Hell-bent to make it on her own
We were a thousand miles from nowhere
Wheat fields as far as I could see
Both needing something from each other
Not knowing yet what that might be

'Til she came to me one evening
Hot cup of coffee and a smile
In a dress that I was certain
She hadn't worn in quite a while
There was a difference in her laughter
There was a softness in her eyes
And on the air there was a hunger
Even a boy could recognize

She had a need to feel the thunder
To chase the lightning from the sky
To watch a storm with all its wonder
Written in her lover's eyes
She had to ride the heat of passion
Like a comet burning bright
Rushing headlong in the wind
Now where only dreams have been
Burning both ends of the night

That summer wind was all around me
Nothing between us but the night
When I told her that I'd never
She softly whispered that's alright
And then I watched her hands of leather
Turn to velvet in a touch
There's never been a summer
When I have ever learned so much

We had a need to feel the thunder
To chase the lightning from the sky
To watch a storm with all its wonder
Written in her lover's eyes
She had to ride the heat of passion
Like a comet burning bright
Rushing headlong in the wind
Now where only dreams have been
Burning both ends of the night

I often think about that summer
The sweat, the moonlight and the lace
And I have rarely held another
When I haven't seen her face
And every time I pass a wheat field
And watch it dancing with the wind
Although I know it isn't real
I just can't help but feel
Her hungry arms again

She had a need to feel the thunder
To chase the lightning from the sky
To watch a storm with all its wonder
Written in her lover's eyes
She had to ride the heat of passion
Like a comet burning bright
Rushing headlong in the wind
Now where only dreams have been
Burning both ends of the night

Rushing in long in the wind
Now where only dreams have been
Burnin' both ends of the night
