How can I find Shirley Eikhard's Someday Soon lyrics?

Can someone help me with the lyrics of "Someday Soon", the song from The Domino Principle's main & closing titles? As far as I know from an assiduous research, the song is written by Billy Goldenberg & Harry Shannon, and performed by Shirley Eikhard. The lyrics or even an useful www link will be highly appreciated (if I get the lyrics, I'll stop mumbling the bits and pieces I humbly know by now, and I'll try a decent humming) at [email protected]. Gracias! (as a side note intended to impress to tears some music connoisseurs and make them help me -- this is my third "song quest", although of a different nature. As a child, I was hunted by a particular tune, which later I found out to be Jon & Vangelis' "Friends of Mr. Cairo". A few years later, the same happened with Tasmin Archer's "Sleeping Satellite". Now I'm in the dark again, and it's cold in here!)

I checked the link given by a helpful hand (on the other similar thread I posted by mistake -- mea culpa), but still no lyrics for my weeping soul. My quest continues, 'cause it's my one-and-only-one-song-you-are-allowed-to-bring-with-you-on-an-island.

Is this it?

There's a young man that I know whose age is twenty-one
Comes from down in southern Colorado
Just out of the service, he's lookin' for his fun
Someday soon, goin' with him someday soon

My parents can not stand him 'cause he rides the rodeo
My father says that he will leave me cryin'
I would follow him right down the roughest road I know
Someday soon, goin' with him someday soon

But when he comes to call, my pa ain't got a good word to say
Guess it's 'cause he's just as wild in his younger days

So blow, you old Blue Northern, blow my love to me
He's ridin' in tonight from California
He loves his damned old rodeo as much as he loves me
Someday soon, goin' with him someday soon

When he comes to call, my pa ain't got a word to say
Guess it's 'cause he's just as wild in his younger days

So blow, you old blue northern, blow my love to me
He's ridin' in tonight from California
He loves his damned old rodeo as much as he loves me
Someday soon, goin' with him someday soon
Someday soon, goin' with him

Lovely lyrics, but no match. Shirley Eikhard's "Someday Soon" lyrics have no specific "geography" assets. The song has a nostalgic tone, similar to Katie Melua's "Nine Million Bicycles"

I finally found the lyrics:

Someday Soon

Someday soon a rising wind is
gonna carry me away
to a purpose I can dream of.
It will happen

someday soon

the promise painted
on the inside of my eyes
it will show me my direction,
cut the whole world down to size.
Yes, the promise will come true
someday soon...

Someday soon there'll be a harbor
and a haven for my soul,
no more weight upon my shoulders.
I'll sail on home

someday soon

I'll be releasing
all the things I've held inside,
Heaven knows I have been patient
but the time is nearly right.
I'll be stretching for the moon
someday soon...

Tomorrow's coming nearer,
it's been tugging at my sleep.
There's a pattern in the jigsaw
if I only just believe.
I will see the whole thing clear
someday soon...

Someday soon I won't be empty
and my waiting will be through,
there'll be something to believe in,
there will be love

someday soon

I'll have the answer,
feel it breathing in my hand
and it can't be too much longer
I must try to understand.
There'll be love to see me through
someday soon...

She's a wonderful lyricist, isn't she.

I wish she'd perform more. I still have great memories of seeing her at the CBC Glenn Gould studios about 5 years back. Tremendous.

Someday Soon
Wow, a friend forwarded this thread to me. I'm the songwriter.
That tune was the title song to an old Stanley Kramer picture called "The Domino Principle," with Gene Hackman. I believe the year was 1977. The musical score was by Emmy winner Billy Goldenberg, who composed the melody. My publisher Sam Trust (ATV Music Group) assigned me to write the lyrics for Billy. Steve Love from our company then approached young Shirley Eikhard, a gifted artist from Canada, and she recorded both the vocal that appeared in the movie and the single version.
I'm much more of a novelist now, although I still write lyrics upon occasion. It is always great to know people our there still remember your songs after all this time! Thanks for being interested. Best,
Harry Shannon

I remember singing this song as a student in music. The tune often comes to mind and today I decided to google it. This is the only site I came upon when I entered a few lyrics . Thanks for writing such a beautiful song.
