Spidergirl--

Here in the Poconos (90 minutes drive southwest of New York City) winters are very drab--brown and brown and brown and brown and brown.

Color returns with spring.

Spidergal--

Official spring arrives 3/21. I have snowdrops and early crocus blooming now, but the leaves won't appear on the trees until the last week in April or in Early May.

Yes, Holi signifies the arrival of spring...but it's never ever drab over here despite all the dirt and heavy traffic...Smile

Happy Holi, Spidergal....Smile and everyone else!! (In south india, however, Holi is much much much more subdued tha in north india)

This webcam site loads very slowly (and today is a bit misty in the mountains) but the picture shows the sort of "color" available in Nature right now.

Yummy Razz Razz

Mom has just fried up gujiyas.

I thought I'd just share with you all.

How to prepare gujiya?

Sakhi, have you already prepared gujiyas?

Mom has just discovered that instead of powdered sugar she had mistakenly poured salt into the Gujiya mixture. Noddy, I am glad you still found it delicious!

heavy rains spoil Holi fun.
Today is March 14- Holika Dahan and can you believe it, its raining over here!
Its 9:40 p.m and its raining. In my short lifespan of 19 years, I never saw rainfall in March. The Holika Dahan celebrations have been wiped out. All the big holikas standing out here wouldn't be set ablaze now.

I don't know how to look at this state of weathers! Hoping its not going to rain tomorrow. A little drizzle would be ok but no heavy rains………

Crying or Very sad

Spidergal--

I take some of your posts with a great deal of salt. The Gujiya happened to be one of them.

Hold your dominion.

I understand.......My posts are so sweet that you need salt to maintain the balance. Smile
