Hi all!!

Here I am still battling with my laptop! Well this time I can't get the internet to work on it.
I just moved two provinces away, and it worked fine in Sask. Now since I moved to BC I am using my roomies connection. It says its working, but the browser doesn't work, nor does anything else internet related. I've tried running the connection wizard a few times, and tried all the little things I know how to do. Does this have something to do with a diff internet provider or anything? I'm running windows 2000 pro. Any suggestions on what I could try doing here?

First thing to do would be compare your machine's internet settings with those on you roomie's machine; if the roomie's machine works OK, the problem obviously is your machine's. You also might want to consult with the ISP's Help Desk - it well might be a configuration issue they easilly can resolve for you.

Another possibility, though given what you report a remote possibility, is a corrupted Winsock stack on your machine.
