i could've sworn i posted this already maybe someone deleted it! oh well.

the thing is, i have a $100 gift card at best buy. (i know... free money though at least). in my opinion, it seems best buy has a deal with apple because basically ALL they stock are friggin ipods. and in an attempt to be nonconformist... i want something OTHER than an ipod.

the players:

Creative Zen Sleek 20gb
iRiver H10 20gb
Philips GoGear JukeBox 30gb

i most want alot of storage, long battery life and if its able to hook up to my car stereo. thanks!

unless you're looking for video capability, go smaller

if you can find one, check out the rio carbon, it's a 5 gig player and is very nice

i had an older rio with 18 gig storage about 4 years ago, and really it's too much storage, 5 gig is plenty of space

I have a Philips GoGear Jukebox 20gb and have no real complaints!

It's very sleek looking, great sound quality...the software can be slightly slow responding, but this doesn't make it any worse to use. The battery life is good!!

And how can 5gb be 'enough storage' if you have more mp3/wma files than 5gb will hold?? Smile

When would you ever listen to 5GB of music? If you're using your mp3 player for storage then yeah, a bigger one is good. However, if you even own a computer with a nice harddrive there is little point in having anything over 5GB unless you're running movies from it.

so true, even a 1 gig player holds about 10 hours of music, plenty for a day at work, the 5 gig player gives me a good weeks worth of music, books whatever, and makes me change stuff and mix it up a bit

I listen to all the songs on my MP3 player....no amount of space is 'wasted', there is always potential to fill it!

And I have a perfectly good computer to store my music as well...

between two hard drives (80 gig, and 120 gig) and one external drive (140 gig), i have about 200 gig of music, so i couldn't get one player big enough to hold it all anyway
