Florida man charged with killing roommate over lack of toilet paper

MOSS BLUFF, Fla. (AP) - A Florida man has been accused of fatally beating his roommate with a sledgehammer and a claw hammer because there was no toilet paper in their home.

Franklin Crow, 56, was charged Monday with homicide in the death of Kenneth Matthews, 58, according to the Marion County Sheriff's Office. Capt. Thomas Bibb said Crow initially denied his involvement, but confessed during questioning.

Crow told investigators that the men were fighting about the toilet paper over the weekend when Matthews pulled out a rifle. Crow said he then began beating Matthews with the sledgehammer and claw hammer, according to an affidavit.

Matthews was beaten so badly he had to be identified through his fingerprints, detectives said.

Crow was being held at the Marion County jail without bond. It was not immediately known whether he had a lawyer.

Just imagine if you ate dinner and there were no napkins. Serious offence.

Actually, I was wondering how long it would be until Osso came by and asked me that question.

Today, I'm not trying to think at all, but just relax big time.

Perhaps you missed my news on the "Chat With Reyn" thread?

Hey, how's my buddy, Baldrick, doing?

Now that you've taken him out for a good test drive, is he feeling "right"?

Personally, I think that the man had ample cause for his distress. I can think of nothing more humiliating than to find, when it is too late, that there is no toilet paper. I think that the killer will get off on mitigating circumstances!

Nothing reinforces your shopping list like blunt force trauma. Hey reyn, Ive noted a curious thing about my avatar. It attracts an entirely different style of response on threads. My Gen Grant was an authority figure. People actually thought I said things worth hearing. Wit Baldrick I get, "well hes just a fool"

Intereting phenom. Somebody probably started a thread on that subject.

BTW, who are we today?

I always think you say things worth hearing, whether you're Grant or Baldrick or Britney Spears.

This makes me remember a man I briefly knew. In a fight with his partner, he hit him on the head with some kind of bust or figurine in the house, and it killed him. In this case, I still believe it was an accident, in that he didn't mean to cause a death.

I think of him because, well frankly, he was very small for a man, maybe 5'5 and a little over a hundred pounds. I can't imagine he lasted long in prison. <shudder>

I wonder in this case here if drugs or alcohol was involved. I'd say yes

I'm still "finding my way". One thing never seems "right" for all occasions. It's not unusual for me to change my avater 5 times a day. It keeps folks sharp and on their toes.

As to who this fellow is, only Mr. Google knows.
