A fake goodbye thread. That's almost as "in" as real goodbye threads followed by changing your mind.
Have a blast Farmerman and don't forget to take lots of pics :-)
Oh, another thing.....when I was there in 1934, I got rather drunk and woke up to find that someone had placed leather chaps on my lower half.
So....if you see a club called "The Pink Bronco", avoid it at all costs.

For light reading might I suggest Reik's Masochism in Modern Man.
What? There are no sat-uplinks where you are going? You can't stop and make a call every once in awhile so we know you are at least not dead? It's too much for you to think of us, your family, a couple of times maybe once a week? It that too much?

I suppose there is internet even in the high country. I dont have a designated schlepper so Im keeping it down to my best 2 fly rods and my OED.

Farmerman--
The more you gloat, the more impressive the ceremony will be for crossing the Equator.
Where will you be for Mardi Gras?
Never thought about it.
Probably some little mining town with guinea pigs to eat and matte to drink.
Itll be a test of my GI system.
Well, see yall when I get back.
Bon voyage!
(Hurry back!)
Waving, waving, waving
till we cannot see your eyes,
the taxi turns
a flash of your hat
then
just the morning chill remains
yet still we wave
goo'bye goo'bye goo'bye
Waving, waving, waving
till we cannot see your eyes.
godspeed.

Im leavin again for Argentina this weekend. Need to spend more time sampling. Cant stand mosquitoes, gotta make a huge batch of DEET and lavendar oil . Mosquitoes down there show up on radar. Its early fall in ARgentina, the snows are beginning to color the foothills and the fishing wil probably suck.
ALL you people in OZ must be going through the same seasonal adjustment and looking forward to winter temps going all the way down to 25 C. At last in the high country of Argentina, the seasons are noticeable.
It gets a lot colder than 25 C in Oz.
Have a nice time, farmerman - whatever the temperatures will be!
Yup, and remember to bring some clean underwear ;-)
