I agree, your mom would probably be happier living with more people around. Last week my son and I drove past a brand new retirement center here, and I had to explain the concept to him. He asked why we didn't all just move there right now!

I really like Heeven's suggestion, although I suspect your neighbors know you too well to believe you'd actually shoot anything.

Now, if it were me.... People tend to believe I'm capable of anything. I wonder why that is.

Yeah, I thought the same thing after a while when mom brought it up, but now she's back to the "I don't know what I want to do" stage (sigh)!
I don't mind either way, but I wish I knew, so I could plan.
If she decides to stay with us, we need to get a place with an inlaw apartment, so we at least have our own space.
I would prefer to buy a house with a winterized guest house, so that I can have my own seperate place.
I'm a night owl by nature and I don't want to have to tippy toe around the house in the wee hours of the morning anymore.
All in all, I don't mind at all having mom around for the rest of her life if that's what she wants as long as we get a place where I have my own place.
It would be nice if she made up her mind, though.

Yeah, I've been doing the tippy toe thing all my life and I'd love to be able to live my life without doing that anymore. If I want to put some loud music on in the middle of the night while I work out, that's just what I want to be able to do.
It's not easy for us night dwellers, is it ;-)
