Elastica, huh?

I have that cd. I haven't listened to it in years. I remember liking it, but didn't think it was groundbreaking.

The Bloc Party album is excellent.

Indeed. As is the A Rush of Blood to the Head by Coldplay, and yet, I can't figure how he could have the Buzzcocks and Joy Division getting topped by Coldplay. It's like a sin or something. Is he gay?

I guess I'm just a music nazi. I can't deal with any else's views but mine.

And I don't care.

I can't see Traffic in that list: The Low Spark of High Healed Boys.

Is Ian Dury there? The Small Faces, the Hollies?

Dark Side of the Moon - Pink Floyd (1973)
The Wall - Pink Floyd (1979)

"Pink Flag," but no Pink Floyd. Tragic.

Where is the Damned. They never get any credit. They blow the Clash away.I think the clash sucks.

Saint Etienne- Fox Base Alpha That was a really good album then the next one sucked.

Shocked

it's funny, it's exactly the sort of list i'd expect from the nme (as it stands today), the bands listed by by others would probably appear in a list by mojo magazine, and then of course a rolling stone mag list would be totally different

looks like the list is a regular thing at NME anyway - I wonder what you could tell about the changes in staff from one vote to the next?

That first Stone Roses album fukkin rules.

But yeah, the author of this list has britpop/post-punk bias.

And yeah, the Damned never get any respect. Way better than the Pistols.

A few other favorites of mine on that list: The Kinks We Are the Village...Wire Pink Flag, Gang of Four Entertainment!
