Everytime I try to add a webpage to favorites for later offline use, the process fails. I am using Broadband internet on XP. What could be the possible problem and the solution, guys?

One thing I noticed about IE and favourites is that sometimes it doesn't put the favourite where you think it should.
If you already have one of the folders selected then it'll put it in there.
It also puts them right at the bottom of the list and not in alphabetical order.
Have a hunt around in the faves folder and see if you can find it.
Or you could click on the Organise button and see if you can get all your faves organised into folders etc...

Thats OK but my problem is that the pages I add to fav are not available offline even when I check the box for that purpose.

Yeah......What's so strange with that?

Earlier, when I had a dial up connection on Windows 98, I used to add the pages to favourites and view them later when offline. Ofcourse, when offline, I was not able to use the links on the page.

Ahhhh right. OK.
So you're still on dialup now then ?
Anyway.

I've never found that the enable offline viewing works either.
I have found that saving the page does work though.
Go up to File and click Save As... then save it as what you want, where you want.
Drop your connection and go click the .html file you just saved to try it out.

Thanks Smile

But I am not on dial up, we've just subscribed for broadband.

And yeah......I have observed saving web pages from File menu is a better option. But, Favorites always worked on 98 and dial up. Besides, saving as web page creates as extra folder(hey, helio, have you observed that?)

Anyways, for now I'll do the saving thing.

There's one more thing I wanted to ask.......Can saved Internet files, over time, create problems like hang-up etc?

You mean files like all the rubbish that collects in your cookies and internet cache ?
Well, yes.
You should clear out your temporary internet files folder every so often just to keep things running smoothly.

You know you don't have to save the files now. That will just clutter up your drive with all sorts of rubbish you don't want after looking at it.
You have broadband so just go back and look at the pages.
It's not as if it's going to be a problem now you have a decent connection.
