I am not able to send a 4MB JPEG file as an attachment from my free yahoo account. It is a scanned document. What can I do?

if you are on Windows, before attaching the file:

right-click the file
Send To
Compressed (zipped) Folder

this will reduce the size of the file, and give it a .ZIP extension

ok, another option is to reduce the size of the JPEG using a photo editor, such as IrfanView...

You could also try scanning at a lower resolution

thats an obvious remedy!

honestly, the only feasible one for me

but i don't want to empty any more of my pocket money over that, i don't have a scanner that is.

You don't have to look for a mirror site that says India. Just pick a site and download.

yet another option:

download the JPEG as is to a free hosting company such as Image Shack, then post it here...
then one of us can re-size it for you Smile

Just be aware, spidergal, that it will be visible and accessible by all. You will not be able to delete it later. You may already know this, but I just felt you should be informed if you are not already.
