What is your favorite rock, heavy metal and other similar music styles band, that emerged between fifties and eighties
My musical tastes are quite diverse. I like ANY BAND tHAT DOESNT HAVE PAUL SCHAEFFER IN IT.
I can't answer these questions, there's too many...
But the list starts with "Hanson."
Between the 50s and the 80s.....?
Beatles
Black Sabbath
Big Star
Van Halen
AC/DC
Motorhead
Cheap Trick
Help I can't stop!
too many to chose from.....

HAHA! WHat is with that guy? And why do people hire him?
He's got the coolest shades, lil' K.
Actually, from what I've heard, he's supposedly really talented, besides being a monkey for Letterman.
He's annoying. Who cares about talent, his noodling makes me tense. His fame came before his monkeyship.
schaeffer is very fluent in a number of muscial styles.
and i think he's funny on letterman, dammit.
blech. I leave the room while he's being a weenie.
it's all weenie humor. what's dave, rico suave or something?
it's not about cool or uncool, it's about weenie or normal person (hahahahha)
He can RUIN a great potential pick up band. Earl Scruggs and Friends As an example. The Scroggy Mt Breakdown was done by a whole passle of good musicians
Earl Scruggs
Randy Scruggs
Tom Petty
charlie Daniels
Steve Martin (a great banjoist)
Vince Gill
Al Lee
jerry Douglas(my man on dobro)
leon Russell
And
PAul (whose dumass idea was this to stick me here)Shafer
Paul shafers presence turned this ole Flatt and Scruggs classic, into a POS
of course this is IMHO
He has NO sense of humor. Ive seen him in interviews aND HES THE music worlds equivalent of Andy Warhol.
littlek, im wichyou. This is NON-Negotiable
Does he use , like Turtle wax on his head or is that just Vaseline?
Speaking of David Leterman, Widespread Panic was on last night!!! wahooo!
briefly - did they play more than one tune?
Not to be cliche' but I used to thin Black Sabbath, and I still would except Ozzy's voice annoys me now.
Metallica seems cliche' but they're still around aren't they?
There is a reason bands stick around.
I choose:
PANTERA got together in 1981 I believe.
Dio? Some like him. Danzig?
I just listened to a Pantera cd last night, "Vulgar Display of Power." I haven't popped in that disc in a long time.
So many great bands, but I just found a cassette of Talking Heads and they were/are up near the summit. Had listened to them for some time
Vulgar Display of Power's great, so is CFH, the live album, and well basically everything they've ever made.
Dime and Vinny are creating a side band called "New Found Power" if my memory serves me right. Country Metal...... that should be well, interesting...
