In my purse? Hm, today I have a little one, but usually
it's a big one carrying wet towels, kleenex, lollipops, game boy,
cd's, play cards and anything else the child desperatly needs
to be content. Cell phone, money, business cards, keys does it for me.

I just happened to have a pic here of CJ's purse. It's empty, except for a bicycle wheel at the moment.

Absolutely Reyn. Over here they call it "stocktaking", or "pocket billiards".

You MUST play this over in BC, as it is so cold, you probably have your hands in your pockets all the time, when outdoors.

When I was trying to cross the Capillano bridge over there, I was hanging on for dear life, yet the Canadian in front of me had both hands in his pockets.

I knew what he was up to.

And oh yes a box of toothpicks and a big box of wooden kitchen matches...
Mother had a jar of hand lotion once but it opened up and destroyed the purse...

Wow, didn't think anybody would get mad at a harmless joke.

Actually, my intention was that he couldn't find anything in his pocket because there was a hole in it and everything was dropping out leaving a trail behind him.

It's not funny if you got to explain a joke. Sad

Just out of interest, a purse, over here in the UK, is the little leather thing you keep your money in. A wallet is a different shape (flat folding leather thing, as opposed to a pouch thingy with a clip top) and is 99% used by men.

The big thing that is stuffed with the entire contents of ones house and slung over one shoulder is called a handbag.

What do you call the small pouchy thing that women use for storing their money and cards?

This entire thread reminds me of:

WHAT'S IN YOUR WALLET? Evil or Very Mad

In my purse. (had it for years; Aigner, you know)

a wallet containing everything;
breath mints
at least a hundred dollars in change
calling cards
lipstick

We call it a purse or handbag (interchangable). I know that is what Reyn was thinking of too.

For once, I was being serious. Sorry Reyn.

The word "purse" over here, only refers to these.....

No need to apologize to me - I'm cool with it.

It's probably time for me to move somewhere else on this board.

LordE, my "wallet" is like this one. It's a combination coin purse, checkbook, credit card holder & wallet all-in-one.
