I'm as much of a cat lover as the next owner, but where the heck is this woman's responsibility to keep her cat safe? The best way she could kept her pet safe was by keeping it indoors, or in a secure penned area.

This world can be a very unsafe place. We can't expect various levels of government to protect us from everything. Bad things happen. Deal with it.

VANCOUVER/CKNW(AM980) - The city of Vancouver and the provincial government are being sued by a woman for the loss of her pet cat.

Judith Webster claims her cat 'Neutron' was attacked by coyotes near her home and in spite of veterinary care, he died a week later.

Webster says she continues to suffer from post-traumatic stress, loss of enjoyment of life and loss of past and future earnings.

Webster says the city and province are ?'jointly and severally liable' for damages, by failing to maintain safe streets and adequately warn the public about coyotes.
Neither the city nor the provincial government will comment because the matter is before the courts.

If she's losing future ownings over a f'n cat, she should at least be checked out mentally.

Of course, ideal treatment would be a swift kick to the face.
