Mr. B and I got into a discussion tonight about the origin of the phrase "Rrrrrubber biscuit".
He says it came from the Blues Brothers and I say it was from something way before that.
Sadly, a google search of "rubber biscuit" came up with a lot of "Blues Brothers" reference, and Kong dog teething thingamabobs but not a whole lot of anything else (I didn't wade through the 564,000 hits though).
Did "Rrrrrrubber biscuit" originate with the Blues Brothers or before them?
Thank you!
I did this search once. While I thought the term must have originated before the BBs, I couldn't find any references. But, I didn't wade through all the hits either.....
Shari - thank you! What a great website.....
Thanks!
Rats again for my computer not having sound. I'll borrow one that does so I can hear.
I love the photos on that site - what a walk down fashion memory lane.
The Chips were from Brooklyn...
Is close, so close. The Chips that wrote and sang Rubber Biscuit were from Brooklyn and the song was released in 1956. The band members were a bunch of teenagers in jail when they wrote the song... Ace Records put out a comp with it included. I think the title of the disc is Great Googa Mooga.

Right!

I sent a different site when I found that out. I think the other Chips is sans the 'The'.
