....actually, to be environmentally correct, we women should
recycle - or better, re-function coconut shells to bras.

because at 38C one tends to "spill out" in most bras.

"Spill out" is a sign that you are wearing the wrong cup size. Here are directions for finding your correct size directly from the Bra Mistress Tyra Banks:

80% of women wear the wrong size bra so, grab a measuring tape and follow these steps to learn your measurements.

1. Band Size: place your measuring tape just below your breasts and around your body. Once you have determined that measurement, add five to that number. If you get an odd number, round up. That new total represents your band size.
2. Cup Size: place the measure tape across the fullest part of your bust and around your body. Don't pull the tape tight, leave it a little loose across your breasts. Subtract this number from the Band Size figure. The difference determines your cup size as follows: Less than 1 inch = AA, 1" = A, 2" = B, 3" = C, 4" = D, 5" = E or DD, 6" = F or DDD, etc.

I've taken quite a few friends to Sophia's for a fitting. It's always funny seeing their faces when they find out what their real bra size is. Definitely worth getting a proper fitting for the girls.

I agree...everyone should get a professional fitting. I'm a 40D, and I never have trouble with spillage.

nope, I am definately a 38C. the spillage I mention is only for flimsy bras. Like I said, the full figure bras work perfectly, as I am a full figure woman.

maybe flimsy isn't the right word. if you look at the bra ads in the sunday papers, you see that the regular bras just cover less area. the full figure have the same cup size, just go up higher.
I'm not a D, they are all bunchy, I'm not a 40, they are very loose around the body.
I'm a definite 38C full figure.

What I find is the manufacturer makes a big difference, some brands don't fit correctly no matter what size is tried on, and believe me, I have tried them all.

It also depends where the straps ride on your shoulders. I absolutely HATE those straps that are set too far out, like for those bras that have a relatively low, how would you say, scoop. They feel like I should be pulling up on them all day.

Once or twice I have had myself "sized" professionally. That was a joke. One woman told me I was a 42D Shocked I could tell when she was running the tape around me she was doing it WAY too loose. When I told her that figure was ridiculous, she got all snooty.

Just to show her I put on a 42D and showed her. It was hanging off of me, it literally wasn't even touching my body. the cups looked like I had thrown a circus tent over my breasts.

"oh, well, no I suppose that doesn't fit." Guess what size did.

When someone else professionally sized me, the results were similar.

When I take a tape measure and do it myself, I come up with 38C.

I agree with Chai. The sizes of bras are not consistant across the board so some styles in one size have me spilling all over. The size I was measured for doesn't fit in some styles. I have to go up a cup size.

Nodding my head too. I don't like the wide-set straps, either. Even worse are the ones that are cut high under the arm. The manufacturers must be trying to make it difficult for us. Even different styles in the same brand fit completely differently.

Don't you just hate it when they discontinue the one that fits you?

I find a DD from VS fits much better on my head than a DD from say, Sears.

Or worse, they "revamp" the freakin' thing and think it's better and then you go to get it and the "revamped" version doesn't fit.

Just had that happened. So pissed. Evil or Very Mad

Try being a 42DDD. I love it when they have someone outside of the VS store promoting their lotions and scents and they try to sell them to me.

My response is always the same. "You don't carry clothing for women my size, so this woman refuses to shop in your store for anything else."
