Hmm, I could see a few folks in the Christian camps being a bit upset about this.

NEW YORK (AP) - A New York man's holiday spirits soared to celestial heights Friday when a judge gave him permission to change his name to Jesus Christ.

Jose Luis Espinal, 42, said he was "happy" and "grateful" the judge approved the change, effective immediately. Espinal said he was moved to seek the name change about a year ago when it dawned on him, "I am the person that is that name." .........

Just in time for His birthday, New York judge lets man take name Jesus Christ

I'm thinking that this version might be just a little "away with it".

I wonder what the judge would have thought if the guy wanted to change his name to Napoleon Bonaparte! Laughing

Go to: www.zabasearch.com and type in "Jesus Christ". There are 23 of them in the U.S. There even is a Jesus H. Christ. For a fee, you can even get a complete background check on Jesus Christ! Laughing

Many churches do this under the guise of tithing.

I'm sure there's no harm done. Can't imagine anybody mistaking one for the other.
