Well, nothing much has happened on the job front.
Since December, I've seen one job worth applying for. That was just a week ago. It's a job as a "weather observer" at our local airport. Apparently, no experience required. Probably a gadzillion people will apply, but we'll see, I guess.
In the meantime, I have continued with my photography and have set up a website (which can be accessed from here, hint, hint) showing my best efforts to date.
Lots of chess playing has been happening.
I've also started doing some fix-ups around the home. The main stuff to do is some interior painting. Outside, there's the back fence to slap another coat on, as it's looking a bit rough.
A little worried about Vivienne, as her right knee is acting up. She'll probably need an operation on it. It's looking like she has some bone spurs and a small amount of torn cartilage. I bought her a cane so she's a bit steadier on her feet.
My soon-to-be ex-employer (end of this month) was in the news. They managed to have employee payroll information stolen that was stupidly left on a laptop. Yup, we all had to go out and get new bank accounts, as we're all on direct deposit. The you-know-what is going to hit the fan, as the gov't will be doing a investigation into it. This company (Accenture Business Services) does contract work for our provincial electrical utility and it's a crown corporation, which means it's in the public sector. Serves the SOBs right. Treat people like dirt, it'll come back to haunt you.
So, other than that, official retirement still takes place 1 May. Then, I still have benefits to sort out. First pension cheque should arrive at the end of May.
Thanks for asking.......
