Yup.

Instruments for other people's kids is pretty much evidence of how much you hate them.

And their neighbours.

I thought we were talking about what boomer would be getting for Mo.

Not sure if the stumbling block on getting a piano for him as per his request is expense/ size or noise -- if the latter, keyboard wouldn't help much, but if the former, maybe it would.

It's done!

Hurrah!

Let the celebrations begin!

I went with the cards that Mo had drawn and left it at that.

I figured that was the happiest medium between "screw 'em" and all of us.

It is really weird doing the "rounds".

Mo's dad's parents treat me like family - Mo's family. They always welcome me in.

The rift of their drug use is over and they are leading responsible and productive lives.

Mo's mom's family is..... different. I don't know how to even describe it. Maybe I'm a reminder of .... junk.

Anyway....

They were asking Mo what he had asked Santa for for Christmas and he told them a piano. (I'm still wiggling out of that.) So the topic came up that we had been considering piano lessons and maybe next year and blah blah blah

Then I noticed that g-grandma clamed up, left the room and started checking her phone messages.

Uhh.

WTF?

I guess I'm not supposed to plan for Mo's future or something.

I dunno.

Happy, happy, happy to be home and have it done with!!

Oh dear. That is such an example of how hard it is to be you.

(((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((Boomer))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))

But...you don't think she just has a short attention span, or was, unrelatedly, expecting an important call?????? (Or, indeed, it reminds them of **** and makes her feel bad?)

On second thought....

Maybe they're afraid I'm going to leave him there.

I won't pretend to understand them.

The whole visit lasted about 15 minutes so I would assume any pressing phone messages could have been retreived in the very near future.

Honestly, it's like visiting another planet.

Oh that's a cool little piano, soz!

I think I'm going to hold out forsomething that can't easily be left in the rain though. About 80% of anything electronic around here only works on an arbitrary basis.
