Anyone remember rock & roller Gene Vincent ? One of the great rock & roll originals.
He was in a movie called "The Girl Can't Help It" 1956, along with Little Richard, Fats Domino, The Platters and others

I just found in my local library a CD by GV called Blue Gene Bop. It has nearly 40 live performances from 1960/1 for BBC radio. Magic stuff

Yeah,I remember him, although I was a little young in 56.My Mum and Dad loved music-Big Band,Country and of course, early Rock and Roll.I still have some of their old 78's and EP's.A great tribute to Gene Vincent was paid by Ian Dury when he wrote and recorded the track "Sweet Gene Vincent"
yeah I remember that Ian Dury tribute. Dury, like GV is also no lnger with us. Shame they've both gone
I loved Gene Vincent, though I was not there at the beginning.
What happened to Ian Dury? I shudder to ask...
Thanks, oldandknew. He was an original. If he was known in the US at all, it was for "Sex and Drugs..." but my UK friends made sure I heard much more of Ian than that!
