A Tree GROWS in BRookyn: WHATS YOUR FAVE BOOK?

If you know me, you'll know that I am always saying that the last book I read was my favorite. THis time, a tree grows in Brookyn by betty smith is one of my favorite books. I loved it because it was so true to the life of struggling families in the US. I can relate to what FRANCIE, the main character is feeling as she grows up. I've had teachers who didn't like me, people who looked down on me and I am blessed that I can rise out of adversity and succeed. My favorite quote from the book is, "But the tree in the yard-this tree that men chopped down... this tree that they built a bonfire around, trying to burn up its stump- this tree lived!"
