what do you all think of herb's.
I'm crazy for oregeno, basil, dill, all kinds of herbs.
Cooking wouldn't be the same without a full herb and spice rack.
I suppose the decline of herbs ran parallel to the decline of our cooking,at the time the industrial revolution enticed people off the land.But now,I think nature is luring us back from our modern technology to consider what the earth gives - fresh natural foods and fresh natural flavours,and not least the enormous variety of fragrant and fresh-tasting herbs.If you live in the country,you may be fortunate enough to have space for a herb garden,but even in cities,more and more people have set up window-boxes or grow bags to plant a few fresh herbs to enliven their cooking.
Fresh herbs can now be purchased quite widely in shops and supermarkets.
I,for one,cannot/will-not cook without them :wink:
some people smoke them too, i understand.
I had lunch at Herb's once...great hamburgers.
I love Herb's and herbs. Fresh herbs are even better, however, they don't last so long. I always use herbs in my cooking.
@partyjohn,
I am going to make a delightful herb garden for bees, butterflies and other creatures of nature. I have been reading up on all kinds of herbs and experiments that have been done with herbs and bees and this can well be the way of the future beekeeper. Treatment free, because we are not putting anything in the hive to combat pests, but herbs that bees can use to combat them for themselves.
Thanks in advance,
Steve
