US retailers, Chinese MFG and Inspections

I've been told to be mindful that many retailers will not buy my product if the factory does not pass very rigorous social compliance inspections, which can be a difficult hurdle for most factories.

I have selected a couple of manufacturers for my US company to work with and my company will be speaking with retailers soon. Of course I visited the factories and they looked great to me but I am curious how to ascertain if a factory will pass these inspections.
