So, I noticed in the article, that the owner of the diamonds hugged the guy who found them and
promised him a reward. Wonder if he'll keep his word?
Cabbie finds $350,000 in diamonds, returns them
Reyn: I hope the owner of the jewels does something for the cab driver. That was a good deed that rose above the temptation to steal the loot. The cabbie did the right thing.
I think that what the cabbie did was what a decent, civilized person ought to do, without looking for a reward. If he gets one, that is a plus.
I think the cabbie did the right thing, too.
The only reason that I brought the bit about the reward is the fact that the owner of the jewels made a promise of one. It would be interesting to see if the same level of honesty can now be expected of him, now that he has his property back. If he had no intention of giving a reward, he should have said nothing other than 'thank you'.
That's my point.
I take my own reward out and return the rest.
Okay, so here's the follow-up on this story. It was nice that the cabbie's honesty was appreciated and the owner of the diamonds came through with his promise.
Honesty pays for L.A. cabbie who found $350,000 in diamonds left in his taxi
What a great ending. I fell bad now for my other post. Maybe the world ain't so bad after all.
he should expect reward for his honesty it was a really cool thing he done giving them back imagine yourself giving back precious diamonds to be honest i'm not sure if I could, exspecially if there was no nice reward at the end for me.
