Halloween Creep Outs

I can't believe no one started a thread like this to document this years weird happenings on Halloween or Devils Night!

So here it is. What bizarre things happened at your house?

As I recounted in a previous thread......
I had a visit from my friend whom I haven't seen or heard from in quite a while. I had thought perhaps she moved on. But, she's still very much there and made sure last night that I knew it.

I always sleep with a fan on. In the winter, it's turned to the wall as to avoid the cold blast over my bed. I had it off the oscillation mode and turned to the entertainment center. When I was getting ready for bed that night, I turned the fan on and noticed it was facing the wall. Sort of weird. Dismissed it as me forgetting I turned it that way. But then, it started oscillating. The on/off buttons are on the stand. The oscillating button is on the top. I didn't hit it. My husband got home after me and hadn't been upstairs until that moment with me. So he didn't do it. Who else lives with us? No one living....

No problems here. My daughter raided the neighborhood
and got home with tons of candies - just as expected Laughing

I miss the candy raids...and then dumping out the booty all over the living room to sift though and determine what mom and dad can eat.....

**sigh** Sucks getting older.

I had a most pleasant evening, all in all.

Penbury had erected a larger than usual catapult up on the ramparts, and we were able to hit the little buggers when they were only halfway up the drive.

The particularly obnoxious looking ones were left alone until they reached the front door, then we glooped them from a great height.

One rather large retreater received four paintball strikes by the time he had reached the main gate.

Marvellous.

Haha Spanky, I wish I could do that once in a while,
not only on Halloween, and not necessarily with children
alone. Some of my neighborhood culprits could use
a good dose of paintballs as well.

Bella, wait until you're a parent, then you can eat all
the candies you want, once the kids are in bed.

First thing my daughter did when waking up this morning,
is run to her pumpkin bowl and look how much is still left.

Not one little ghost or goblin rang our bell last night. Not one. It's so sad.

it is isnt it.
trick or treaters are no where to be found anymore.
what used to be a HUGE outing for family, kids, and even teenagers.. is almost forgotten.
I remember, when the neighborhood streets were almost impossible to get your car down because there were TONS of kids .

now you are lucky to see a small gaggle of them. Confused
so many people are afraid of other people , they dont even trick or treat anymore.

Cute....

I loaded up my boys and niece and her mother...to go hob knobbin' with the goblin's.....

You have to remember here that we have travelin' to do in my neck of the woods. There isn't many neighborhoods...so..you may have to travel 5 or 6 miles between them...lol

BUT..we had a blast. My S-I_L said that she's never had that much fun trick or treating in her life...lol Bless her heart!! I can't imagine...

Halloween seemed to be one of our most memorable holidays growing up...and I try to make the most of it for my boys...

I'd be willin' to bet that they gathered up 25 pounds of candy between the 3 of them last night...lol

A friend told me that last night her roommate came home rather drunk (had to be helped to bed) and a few minutes after he laid down, she heard an absolutely terrified series of screams and then a crash. She ran to his room to find him on the floor, hysterically screaming and saying he'd been attacked-- and with a black eye, a cut face, and an arm that seems to be fractured, none of which had been present when he'd come in the house. Shocked kinda weird!
