Soooo, what if you use glycerine soap? What is the diff between shower gels and bar soap?

Lord, I have no idea.

Does the glycerine soap leave lots of erky stuff in your shower alcove/bath?

If so, that is the difference.

It isn't soap that is being left in the tub, or at least mostly, it isn't. It's a peachy-pink mold, there's a very thin film on the tub and sides of the shower unless we clean and clean. And it is definitely humidity-based as we do not get it in the downstairs bathroom (which does not have a shower). And no, it isn't, er, bodily fluids. It's mold.

The main thing is for us to keep the bathroom as dry as possible, and that is not always an easy thing to do. Hence it turns into a cleaning production. Oof.

Deflect attention? Why, I don't believe I'm taking your meaning.

As another aside, does anyone else find it creepy that Donner was chosen for those wondrous kebabs? Really makes you wonder what the meat is in those things.

Donner, as in Donner Pass? Oy.

Yes, mold. We have a fungal pet, it seems. I'm very glad it's not ambulatory.

And jello molds have been known to turn up at the most elaborate of events.

Just don't make it out of the stuff on my shower walls.

Okay, that was icky, my apologies. Thought it is a somewhat lovely pinky-peachy shade. For a slime mold.

littlek, you should look for male housemates. Contrary to

do you have a dehumidifier in the basement ?
it would probably prevent any mold buildup .
we keep a dehumidifier running from spring to fall - it;s still on ,
it's amazing how much humidity/water is picked up by it .
have you checked the humidity level ? it should not be over 50% to prevent mold from building up .

...AUSTRALIA : SAVE WATER - SING SHORT SONGS...

BBC reports :
"Energy Australia, one of the country's leading power suppliers, has conducted research which showed the average shower length is seven minutes.

For Australians who like to begin each day by belting out their favourite song under a steady stream of hot water, this study will come as jolting news.

Energy Australia wants customers to choose shorter songs."

i hope no one is checking on me and my poolmates when we shower in the morning - one shower before entering the pool - another (loooong) shower after coming out of the pool  .
my suggesting to the australians is to hum chopin's "minute waltz" .
that should save plenty of water and electricity .
our 'excuse' for long showers is that , the boilers run on natural gas - and alberta is eager to sell it .
