How do you like mine? It's hell trying to type on this keyboard though.
An expression of your inner feline?
They look like surfboards don't they?
I've had silk wrapped nails once, to make them stronger.
They were strong all right, so strong, that when I tried
to catch a falling book, one of my nails bend backwards
and got completely ripped off. The pain was escrutiating
and it took a very long time for the nail to grow back.
That was it for me!

Do-it-yourself self-expression of my feminine side.

Honestly, I don't know how anyone can properly type with them.
Nice channeling, however you spell that..
Funny Eva and Shewolf, I love manicured hands, but could never get behind painting toe nails.
Just not much of a foot person I guess.
I don't do fake nails #1 because of the health risks and #2, I can't justify $60.00 a month (now that just me, I know women who it's just part of their budget, that cool).
Even though a classic, I'd get bored of the french manicure quickly. I change my color usually once a week, at the most after 2 weeks.
Osso's right, you can have both. I do all sorts of stuff you'd think would break them, but not with the stuff I use I guess.
Funny Osso, I just realize keeping my nails done DOES simplifiy things for me. Most of my life I bit my nails and was embarrassed by them, hiding them and such. Now, there's no worry about my hands and I don't give them a second thought.
Getting out my special manicure box, and settling down to relax and preen myself is one of the few things I do totally for myself.
To me it's a beautiful little ritual that I really enjoy.
Oh - Bella....are your names just thin, or do they grow slowly, or both?
I find a coat of two of ridge filler for natural nails, which dries super fast so you can apply the color and top coat really adds a lot of strength to your natural nails.
Also, as I've said before, I only get OPI products, I really do think it makes a big difference, man, right now if I try to squeeze the left & right edges of a nail together, those babies don't MOVE.
Right now, I'm Bogata Blackberry.
I can't explain why but I've never liked the feeling of nail polish. I peel it off within a day whenever I put it on.
Back to my experience - in the sixties and seventies, really good looking nails took work and care, serious care. My direction away from hair and nails as highlights of my week was part of a whole thing and not all aimed at elegant nails, more from simple accumulation of new interests.
I know that sounds retro snotty and don't mean it that way. If you can do the "new" nails and move freely, and enjoy it, all fine.
We're all different and vive la difference...
I have been trying to explain my self only.

Thank heavens I'm not alone! It's nice to share similar stories.
Oh, wait, I did say plasticky things, didn't I. Well, that is my view.
Past that, enjoy what you do..
Do these really look bad to some of you? (sorry the pic is blurry but I had to crop it and now it looks like crap)
My Nails
No, not bad at all, the length is fine.
I personally don't like square edges, that's just me.
Maybe a little cuticle work?
With the cold weather it looks like maybe you could snag one of them. Owwwww!
