I b'lieve Gus's shriek was what we refer to as a 'sympathy shriek' in response to Chai's melodious shreck...er...shriek. Gus tells me he feels your pain. Quite agree, m'lord and ms.dlowan -- Yanks don't know diddly-squat about the difference between Royalty and Nobility. Which always reminds me of the story of the Yank being showed around the London docks by a British guide. Espying a welter of lumber piled at quayside, the American asked what it was for. The guide answered: "Those are piles for the piers. And I don't mean 'emorroids for the nobility."

It is impossible that we are sending our geese to England, they seem to stay here all year. So, why are they called canadian, then? Did Canada expell them?

They do roast up quite well, unless they have pellets in 'em.

heehee.... come on, wouldn't some one have thought of that by now if they had a good taste to them. They couldn't be protected. I'd think meat shops would be advertizing canada goose in china town.

They're quite tasty. I've got some recipes for roast Canada Goose in some old northern Ontario cookbooks.

Are they still protected? I remember when they really were still considered endangered. Those days are so over.

Do you know why when geese fly in a vee formation, one side is always longer than the other ?
