I have read alot of misterys, but I have to say that Dean Koontz book "By The Light of the Moon" is teh best I've read. It was gripping! Has any one out there read this book? What you Think?
I love Dean Koontz! My favorite so far has been From the Corner of His Eye. I am listening to False Memory right now and it is fascinating! Stephen Lang reads most of Koontz's books and he is awesome!
I loved the humor in By The Light of the Moon. I will most likely go back and listen to this one again. You got my interest in it piqued again!
Have you ever tried " The Taking", and "Servants of twilight" both very good! Very descriptive. The difference with "By the light of the moon" Is those low parts that are in most books are very far and few. It is like a ride!
On a side note Stephen King's "from Buick 8" was great also!
I have read most of Dean Koontz's books and my favorite is Watchers.
I just finished False Memory and was a bit disappointed in it. It was a lot of reading and I guess the plot was a bit flat for me. I might be becoming immune to Dean Koontz books.
Right now I have started Frankenstein Book One: Prodigal Son.
I loved from a Buck 8! It was read by 7 or 8 different people so each and every character came through. I laughed and laughed at that one. I will have to try The Taking and Servants of Twilight. I'm still listening to False Memory. I love the way Koontz thinks! He writes the kinds of thoughts I think most of us think! Wrapped up in craziness and saneness all at the same time!
Heeven,
I read (listened to) the Prodigal Son. I won't give you my review until you have finished it.
I hate that you thought False Memory was a bit flat. Maybe I haven't gotten to that part in the book yet.
I haven't been disappointed by Dean Koontz yet, but I have been by others. I love Stephen King's first works much more than his latest. John Grisham always starts off with a bang but it seems the endings to his always leave something to be desired now.
Momma Angel
I am thinking that it was such a gruelling book to get through at the start that I was disappointed with it. Usually, with his books, I am so enthralled that I cannot put the book down until I find out what happens at the end but with this one it was FAR too descriptive of Martie, Dusty and Susans conditions. It got tiring but at least things started to happen after a couple hundred pages in. I think the book itself, given the plot, was far too long at over 600 pages. I certainly hope the tape is better and maybe edits out a bunch of that stuff that I thought was not needed.
I would call "Dark Rivers of the Heart" his best. Scary because it's way too plausible.
Heeven,
I guess that's why I like audiobooks so much. The readers bring something to the story that my mind doesn't seem to be able to do as well.
Stephen Lang is excellent! I would almost say he knows what MPD is! He brought Martie and Dusty and Susan to life for me. It does add to the book so much (IMO). It's like a movie in my head!
Which book was it of Koontz's that had the alien boy in it being chased? I had the hardest time getting into that one. But this guy at work was reading it and he kept telling me about it so I had to listen to it. It was wonderful! Seems I am always surprised by the ones that take me so long to get into.
The best Koontz book I ever read was "Strange Highways". It is very good. Really.
I used to read Koontz when I was younger, I really must get back to regular reading!!
I remeber the 2 books that I really enjoyed were Servants of the Twilight but my favourite was The Bad Place.
Anyone read Sean Hutson?
Best Koontz book ever????
Intensity. No doubt about it.
