Wednesday, at the Goodwill, I picked up for a dollar Jonathan Swift's Gulliver's Travels for $1.00. When I got home and looked the book over carefully I noticed it is a 1945 first edition with illustrations by Jon Corbino. The illustrations are fantastic. Does anyone know anything about this edition. It looks special to me but I am not sure.
Hope this helps...

Check out the above item number on eBay, or just search eBay with the key words "Gulliver's Travels Corbino" -- two copies were for sale.
The first editon must refer to the illustrations in your book. A first edition Gulliver's Travels would be much earlier:

Right, Piffka a first edition of the orginal book would be more than a good find it would be a miracle. Off to try eBay and thank you for the link.
Between $15.00 and $17.00 unsigned. Signed by the artist $75.00 - this on is unsigned. I do not plan to sell but it is exciting and the illustrations wonderful.
I once bought a copy of Robert Frost poetry that had his autograph. Being in partnership with my brother at the time, we sold it in our book store. Today I regret it.
That would be a treasure, Edgar. Too bad it is gone.
I love this kind of lucky find.
Even if it isn't worth a fortune it certainly is a treasure!
The illustrations are fantastic and you are right boomer is fun to have for me and not to sell.
This kind of little surprise is just one of my favorite things.
My most loved objects are such things. Their value is in the discovery and in the jolt of happy they bring.
I wish I could describe it better -- but I think you get it, Joanne.
