MSN abd MSN Messenger

I have been having trouble with signing onto my hotmail email account. Keeps saying the page is not available. The same goes with signing onto the messenger. It's the only thing I am having problems with. Everywhere else I sign in on or whatever, doesn't give me a problem.
Also when I do try to sign in on hotmail or messenger, it really really screws up my computer. Makes go slow almost to a complete stop, to the point of me finally getting mad enough to just restart my computer and then things are fine, as long as I don't try to sign in on those 2 things.
Is anyone else having this problem??? Or is it something on just my computer?? Please help. Thanks.
